The new BTL rules are overwhelming, and when you work full-time and already have a million things going on, the mortgage process can feel incredibly stressful and complicated. There were definitely days when the whole thing got the better of me!
James and Sarah somehow managed to sort everything out, answer all my questions and, most importantly, keep me calm throughout the process. They made something that felt incredibly complicated so much easier.

We used Easy Life Alliance to arrange our mortgage. The mortgage itself was fine, but unfortunately our experience with the adviser and the company afterwards was extremely disappointing. We started receiving repeated calls and emails telling us that our mortgage was due for renewal and that we needed to speak to them, despite the fact that our mortgage was not actually up for renewal. The volume of contact became excessive — at one point we were receiving around three calls a day, as well as numerous emails, particularly from Mary Ioannou. We eventually had to block the calls.
Despite making it clear that we did not want to be contacted, we are still receiving emails from them to this day. Our requests to stop contacting us have seemingly been ignored.
Far from being an “Easy Life”, the aftercare became a significant nuisance. We would not use them again and would not recommend them based on our experience.
As for the mortgage itself, it was fine, but we are still not entirely sure what value Easy Life Alliance actually added. We had already found the mortgage ourselves, so it is difficult to see what they ultimately did for us beyond the administrative process.
Despite making it clear that we did not want to be contacted, we are still receiving emails from them to this day. Our requests to stop contacting us have seemingly been ignored.
Far from being an “Easy Life”, the aftercare became a significant nuisance. We would not use them again and would not recommend them based on our experience.

Chris Northfield has been our mortgage advisor when my wife and I purchased our first ever home together, and more recently when we moved to something more suitable for our growing family.
Those who have moved will appreciate the challenge this presents, with decisions and worry about money very top of the list. Chris was not only an extremely knowledgeable, friendly, patient and caring person but he was able to use his experience and personality to explain complex and often alien concepts into everyday, normal language. He was always available to answer questions and offer his professional advice, in a no pressure way. I'm disappointed I have to write this review as I've chased EasyLife for a response twice and none has been given. In short, I believe they could have saved us tens of thousands and their inaction meant that we saved no extra money at all by using them. We are down £500 on something we could have easily done themselves. If they did everything they could and this is the best outcome, then that's fine, but I'm not convinced they have as they have yet to reply to me.
Our initial experience with this firm when securing our first mortgage was excellent, but this recent remortgaging process has been entirely different.
We were left in the dark for weeks at a time. Emails regularly went completely unanswered, and agreed deadlines to reply to us were repeatedly missed, requiring constant chasing on our side.
As EasyLife failed to manage the communication timeline, a significantly lower interest rate offer from the lender was allowed to expire, and other options were not explored sufficiently.
As a direct result, we have been forced to remortgage on a much higher rate, wiping out potentially tens of thousands of pounds in long-term savings. To make matters worse, management has also ignored multiple private emails attempting to resolve this issue before posting this review.
Using this service has caused immense stress and has actively cost us more money than if we had just handled the process ourselves.

We used Easylife twice for both renewals and would use them time and time again. Such fantastic service. Richard looked after us and we cannot fault him. From start to finish the service we were given was outstanding. Chris was so helpful in giving us directions to enable us to get to a point where we were ready to start looking at houses; as first time buyers it was so useful to have someone experienced guiding us throughout the whole process. The team were also invaluable by chasing our solicitor for us and providing updates throughout the conveyancing process. I am autistic and they really made the whole process a lot easier as I didn’t have to make endless phone calls or fill out lots of paperwork for our mortgage. Easylife is a good company, and I highly recommend using them. They arranged a mortgage for me, along with life insurance and contents insurance.
Chris is clearly a very experienced Mortgage and Protection Consultant. He is warm and friendly, and he answered all of my questions, thoroughly, throughout. It was a blessing to have him guide me through the mortgage/conveyance process. Chris also monitored fixed rates before exchange of contracts to ensure that I got the best mortgage deal.

We were introduced to Easylife Alliance through our estate agent. We were happy to speak with them in regards to how they could help us. I was very impressed and happy with the service. I worked with Shaun whom talked through what we were looking for, what we would be comfortable with etc. We were then able to move a few numbers around to make things work for us.
